It’s always nice to visit Ipoh for a break from Kuala Lumpur with its great food and interesting heritage architecture. On a return trip from Pangkor Laut we stopped in Ipoh for a couple of nights, staying at the Balinese style hotel called the Ipoh Bali Hotel.

Kledang Saiong Forest Eco Park

We took a brief walk in the Kledang Saiong Forest Eco Park one morning. Located to the north of Ipoh this forest park offers some small trails into the jungle and a small orchid garden to enjoy.

Food of Ipoh

One of the delights of Ipoh is to sample the great selection of local foods.

Shopping

Ipoh has a great selection of small stalls and shops selling many local food products so we end up with a car full of these goodies by the time it is time to drive home.

Heritage Architecture

Around the streets of central Ipoh you can see many old heritage buildings highlighting the historic architecture of this town.

Graffiti

In the small lanes and alleys there are some interesting wall murals or graffiti making the place rather colourful.

Salt Baked Chicken

Of course a trip to Ipoh is not complete until we have visited the salt baked chicken shop and buy a stack of this to bring back home.
