Located on the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia Tanjong Jara Resort is a luxury 5-star beach resort. Here you can relax by a pristine beach, sample the delights of the local cuisine and explore the traditional Malay lifestyle of this region.
The resort accommodation is very comfortable and designed based on 17th century Malay palaces. The rooms are furnished in local timber and rich fabrics and they all have a wonderful view out over the South China Sea. There are a number of dining options at the resort offering local traditional Malaysian dishes or a selection of Western foods. The service staff are wonderful and very friendly making it a really pleasant and relaxing experience.
The beach is beautiful and stretches for a few km giving you the opportunity to take a long walk along the shoreline, or simply just relax in a lounger and take in the sea air and the stunning views out over the ocean to the islands in the distance.
There is a small section of the beach allocated as a turtle egg hatchery under a partnesrship between Tanjong Jara Resort and Lang Tengah Turtle Watch. After hatching the baby turtles are released into the sea. The hatchery’s simple wooden trellis structure provides views of the nests, while keeping predators at bay.
You can take a short jungle trek up Jara Hill right next to the resort but be prepared to be eaten by mosquitoes!
Walking south along the long sandy beach you can watch the locals fish from the shore or visit the small kampungs right next to the shore.
