Bali is an idyllic tropical island and province in Indonesia located in the western Lesser Sunda Islands east of Java. This island has become a very popular tourist destination and tourism makes up 80% of its economy. Contrary to the muslim majority seen elsewhere in Indonesia, Bali is a Hindu majority province.
This book offers a brief photographic tour covering four selected areas of Bali; Ubud, Danau Batur, Danau Bratan and the iconic Tanah Lot.
Ubud, located in central Bali, is the cultural centre of Bali with arts, crafts, cultural shows and an ideal location to visit to relax, take an invigorating walk through the rice paddy fields and savour the local Balinese hospitality. The mountain area of Danau Batur offers cool fresh air and an opportunity to take some exciting walks around the lake or up to the top of the volcano, Mount Batur. Danau Bratan is another mountain area where you can see the stunning water temple, Pura Ulun Danu Beratan, visit the nearby Bali Botanic Garden or play golf at the Handara Golf & Resort. Tanah Lot is an stunning temple located on a rock in the sea next to the coast in the Tabanan Regency and a great place to watch the sun set.
Bali offers an outstanding range of places to visit with lakes, mountains, waterfalls, beaches, wonderful walks, temples, religious ceremonies and a fascinating culture to learn about. The variety and quality of local food is outstanding and the Balinese are a warm and friendly people.
