During our drive south on Highway 5 from Tête Jaune Cache to Blue River we saw the Rocky Mountaineer train also heading south on its journey towards Kamloops. The train was only travelling about 50km/h so we passed it and a few km up the road I turned off over the tracks on one of the open rail crossings, stopped the car and managed to grab a long sequence of images of this famous train passing us.
The Rocky Mountaineer train is the only luxury train operating through the Canadian Rockies to Jasper, Lake Louise and Banff. The Coastal Passage route allows you to extend your rail journey by starting or ending your Rocky Mountaineer vacation package from Seattle and offers contrasting scenery.
