We drove into the town of Jasper and had a short walk around. There was nothing much to the town, the railway station being the most significant building and where the Rocky Mountaineer train arrives at.
So we drove out of the town to visit two nearby lakes, Patricia Lake and Pyramid Lake passing some wonderful colourful area with small ponds.
Patricia Lake is a lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada, near the town of Jasper. It was named for Princess Patricia of Connaught, a granddaughter of Queen Victoria.
Pyramid Lake is a kidney-shaped lake in Jasper National Park, Alberta, Canada. It lies at the foot of Pyramid Mountain, a natural landmark that overlooks the town of Jasper. It has a total area of 1.2 km² and discharges in Athabasca River through the 2 km long Pyramid Creek.
We had a lovely picnic lunch sitting by the side of the lake.
