Panama City was our stopping off point prior to making the traverse through the Panama Canal. We arrived late afternoon and had the chance to head into the old historic quarter in the evening to explore just before sunset.
Panama City is the capital of the Republic of Panama and has an interesting blend of modern skyscrapers along with the beautiful historic district of Panama Viejo. The historic district or Old Quarter has many different architectural styles from Spanish colonial to French and Antillean townhouses which were built during the construction of the Panama Canal.
