Opatija, Croatia

We took a cruise on Silver Seas “Silver Spirit” in October/November 2024 departing from Fusina, Port for Venice (Italy) and visiting Trieste (Italy), Ravenna (Italy), Opatija (Croatia), Split (Croatia), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Bari (Italy), Corfu (Greece), Heraklion (Greece), Santorini (Greece) and finally docking in Athens (Greece).

Next stop was Opatija, a Croatian coastal town on the Adriatic Sea. A fashionable resort in the 19th century, it’s dotted with Habsburg-era villas. The Lungomare is a promenade that snakes along the coastline, offering views of the town and neighbouring islands.

Mošćenice

Close to Opatija is the small hilltop village of Mošćenice, a village in the municipality of Mošćenička Draga in Primorje-Gorski Kotar County on the Istrian peninsula. It is a typical hilltop village with stone houses and narrow streets situated 173 metres above Mošćenička Draga.
