La Paz, Mexico

Our back-to-back cruise on Holland America’s ms Zuiderdam started in San Diego, cruised many ports in Mexico then stopped in Guatemala, Panama City, transited the Panama Canal, to Cartagena, Columbia , Half Moon Cay, Bahamas and finally finished in Miami, Florida.

La Paz is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Baja California Sur, with a 2020 census population of 250,141 inhabitants, making it the most populous city in the state. La Paz is located in La Paz Municipality, the fourth-largest municipality in Mexico by both population (292,241) and area of 20,275 km2.

It is known for its seafront Malecon promenade with beaches, parks and art by Mexican and international artists. In the city centre the 19th century Nuestra Senora de La Paz Cathedral dominates the shady Velasco Garden.
