Costa Nova is a beautiful seaside village on the west coast of Portugal close to Aveiro and well known for its magnificent beaches and wonderful colourful beach houses along the front. The quirky seaside homes are painted in traditional striped patterns and attract tourists who come to take photos in front of the beautiful exteriors.
Costa Nova is situated on a narrow sandbar peninsula that shelters the Ria de Aveiro. On the seaward side is the Atlantic Ocean and long stretches of beach and on the lagoon side you will find a small fishing harbour and rows of the colourful striped houses.
