Sensō-ji Temple, Tokyo

Taking a train to the north side of Tokyo we made a visit to the very popular Sensō-ji Temple. Sensō-ji is an ancient Buddhist temple located in Asakusa. It is Tokyo’s oldest temple, and one of its most significant. Formerly associated with the Tendai sect of Buddhism, it became independent after World War II. It was certainly popular as the place was crowded with throngs of visitors.

We waked through the streets of Asakusa and had lunch at a small corner restaurant which looked out onto an intersection of the roads.

It was our last night in Tokyo and we had a very nice yakiniku dinner at the Haneda Airport …. and an excellent ice cream to finish up.
