Shortly after the commencement of the new tram system in Edinburgh I had the opportunity to test out this service. Edinburgh Trams is a tramway in Edinburgh, Scotland, operated by Transport for Edinburgh. It is a 14-kilometre line between York Place in New Town and Edinburgh Airport, with 16 stops. Construction began in June 2008, and after encountering delays it opened on 31 May 2014.
We boarded the tram at the Gyle Centre and took a ride into princes Street in the city centre. It was a very pleasant and efficient service and in a short time, we were in the centre of Edinburgh with none of the usual traffic and parking problems we usually encounter.
