We took a cruise on Silver Seas “Silver Spirit” in October/November 2024 departing from Fusina, Port for Venice (Italy) and visiting Trieste (Italy), Ravenna (Italy), Opatija (Croatia), Split (Croatia), Dubrovnik (Croatia), Bari (Italy), Corfu (Greece), Heraklion (Greece), Santorini (Greece) and finally docking in Athens (Greece).
We arrived at the cruise terminal in Bari then took a trip north up the coast to the town of Trani. Here we visited the Castello Svevo di Trani, a harbourside castle built in 1233 by Frederick II of Swabia. Along the waterfront is the magnificent Basilica Cattedrale Maria Santissima Assunta, a romanesque Catholic cathedral built from local pink-white stone and completed in the 1200s.
We took a lovely walk around the picturesque harbour with many fishing boats and some nice cafes and restaurants.
