A short distance north of Balmaha on the eastern banks of Loch Lomond in the Trossachs National Park in Scotland sits a beautiful native forest, Cashel Forest. This beautiful forest area has numerous walks many of which give you some wonderful views over Loch Lomond and the trails have benches and picnic tables at regular intervals. The trails include short 500m walks, circular routes up and along the hillside to a moderately challenging 5.7km hike to the peatland at the top of the path network. The area is home to a diverse range of wildlife including badgers and red squirrels.
There is a visitor centre at the car park area with toilets and lots of useful information about the area.
