Luss, Loch Lomond, Scotland

Luss is a unique and picturesque heritage village that sits on the west bank of Loch Lomond in the Trossachs National Park in Scotland about 14km north of Balloch and 16km south of Tarbet. It has been regarded as one of the most beautiful villages in Scotland. Much of the village was created in the 18th and 19th centuries to house workers for the nearby slate quarries. Walking around the village you can admire all the beautiful quaint cottages, visit the Luss General Store or grab a bite and a drink at one of the restaurants.

There is a pier on the side of Loch Lomond where you can take boat trips up the loch or take a water bus to a number of other piers on Loch Lomond.

Luss Parish Church is an interesting small church with a small graveyard which is worth a visit. A church has stood in this location since the year 510. The current church was built in 1875.

  1. These photographs are superb! I visit the Highlands quite often as I have good friends who live there. They are just so special. My favourite place is Fortingall and Glen Lyon my favourite Glen.
