MV Dayspring, Corpach/Caol

This photo location has been on my must visit list for a long time so during a recent trip back to Scotland I got the opportunity to visit. It was a perfect sunny day with blue skies and Ben Nevis in full view (well almost).

The MV Dayspring shipwreck (sometimes referred to as the “Old Boat of Caol”) was an old fishing vessel and is located on the rocky beach on Loch Linnhe at Corpach just outside Fort William. The location offers some atmospherice photo opportunities with Ben Nevis in the background. To get to the wreck simply park at the train station in Corpach, walk down to the coast over the Caledonian Canal and head along the beach towards Caol.

The wreck appeared here after a storm in December 2011 when the boat broke from its moorings from Kinlochleven Pier
