My latest travel/photography e-book South Africa – A photographic journal of a safari at Ngala Private Game Reserve and a road trip on the Garden Route details a wonderful trip to South Africa with a safari to Ngala Private Game Reserve and a roadtrip on the Garden Route. Now published on Amazon.
This book details a wonderful trip to South Africa with a safari trip to Ngala Private Game Reserve (now known as andBeyond Ngala Private Game Reserve) on the edge of Kruger Park, then a drive along the Garden Route from Port Elizabeth (now renamed Gqeberhato) to Cape Town following the southern coastline covering Storms River, Plettenberg Bay, Knysna, George, Mossel Bay and then inland to Stellenbosch.
The safari trip in Ngala Private Game Reserve was an incredible experience and during the few days there we managed to view all the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, African buffalo). It was August when we visited, which is early Spring in the southern hemisphere, so there was less vegetation making it easier to spot the wildlife. To get so close to these animals in the wild and experience a lion kill was just amazing.
The Garden Route drive from Port Elizabeth to Cape Town was one of the best road trips we have done with so many beautiful places to stop with stunning scenery and wildlife to see. During this trip we met up with friends who were also touring the area and did a bungee jump from the Gourits River train bridge and then an amazing free-fall skydive with Skydive Cape Town just north of Cape Town.
We completed our trip in Cape Town but unfortunately the weather had turned and a cold front had moved in which cancelled our planned shark cage dive and also precluded a planned visit to the top of Table Mountain. However the drive along the coast on Chapman’s Peak Drive was wonderful with some stunning sea views along the steep cliffs of the coastline.
The local food in South Africa was really excellent and the local people warm and hospitable. Of course there was also a wonderful choice of exceptionally reasonable South African wine to complement the food.
This book with the many images, maps and accompanying text will hopefully inspire you to make a trip to this outstanding country and experience it for yourself.
