Just published on Amazon is my latest travel book detailing an incredible 16-day cruise around South America starting in San Antonio, Chile and finishing in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil.
In October 2018 we did a comprehensive trip to South America starting in Lima, Peru, and then a 16-day cruise down the west coast of South America from Santiago, Chile around Cape Horn to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil followed by a land tour to Iguazu Falls in Brazil and Argentina. An earlier published book, titled Ancient Monuments of Peru, detailed the first portion of the trip covering our land tour in Peru and the incredible megalithic sites and monuments that we visited in Lima, Cusco, the Sacred Valley, Machu Picchu and Lake Titicaca.
This book covers the next portion of the trip detailing our cruise from our starting point in San Antonio, Chile down the west coast of Chile taking in the Chilean Fjords, rounding Cape Horn, stopping at the port of Ushuaia in Argentina, out into the south Atlantic to the Falkland Islands, then north to Montevideo in Uruguay, Buenos Aires in Argentina and onto to the final port in Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. Also included in this book is our post- cruise land tour to visit the stunning Iguazu Falls at the Brazil/Argentina/Paraguay border.
The original plan was to also include a visit to El Calafate, Argentina to see the Perito Moreno Glacier situated in the Los Glaciares National Park. However, due to the airline we were booked on going on a snap strike we had to change plans and abort this leg of the journey and instead had a few extra days in Buenos Aires before flying back to UK.
