Carrick-a-Rede Rope Bridge is a famous rope bridge near Ballintoy in County Antrim, Northern Ireland. The bridge links the mainland to the tiny island of Carrickarede. It spans 20 metres and is 30 metres above the rocks below.
The day we visited the Carrick-a-Rede rope bridge it was raining so we waited in the entrance cafe for a warm coffee and waited till the rain stopped. So then shortly after we paid our entrance fee and started the walk to the bridge the rain started again …. welcome to Ireland!
The small rope bridge swayed in the wind as we crossed making it a little more exciting. At the small island at the other side we saw many nesting seabirds on the cliffs but again the rain prevented the best views that day.
