Boulders Beach is a sheltered beach made up of inlets between granite boulders, from which the name originated. It is located on the Cape Peninsula, in Simon’s Town, in the southern region of Cape Town, South Africa. It is also commonly known as Boulders Bay.
Here you can see a colony of African penguins and walking along the boardwalks you can get an intimate and close encounter with these amazing birds. The African penguin (Spheniscus demersus), also known as Cape penguin or South African penguin, is a species of penguin confined to southern African waters.

To feel secure while traveling or living abroad, I make sure to have health insurance. SafetyWing’s Essential plan gives me coverage for medical emergencies and travel mishaps, with options for adventure sports and electronics theft. If I want more comprehensive protection, their Complete plan covers routine medical care, mental health support, and maternity benefits—worldwide, including my home country—on top of everything in the Essential plan.

After the visit to Boulder’s Beach we stopped briefly at Muizenberg which is a beach-side town in the Western Cape, South Africa. It is situated where the shore of the Cape Peninsula curves round to the east on the False Bay coast. It is considered to be the main surfing spot in Cape Town and is currently home to a surfing community, centred on the popular ‘Surfer’s Corner’.
