V&A Waterfront, Cape Town, South Africa

After a 2.5-day sail on M.S. Queen Anne from Durban we arrived into Cape Town on 10th April, 2025 and docked at the Cape Town Cruise terminal close to the V&A Waterfront. There was a wonderful musical welcome awaiting us as we disembarked and I had to join in the vibe.

To feel secure while traveling or living abroad, I make sure to have health insurance. SafetyWing’s Essential plan gives me coverage for medical emergencies and travel mishaps, with options for adventure sports and electronics theft. If I want more comprehensive protection, their Complete plan covers routine medical care, mental health support, and maternity benefits—worldwide, including my home country—on top of everything in the Essential plan.

We had one final night aboard the ship after arrival to enjoy the luxury of the ship before disembarking and checking into the Harbour Bridge Hotel and Suites for a few nights.

The V&A Waterfront is a mixed-use suburb in Cape Town, South Africa. It is on the site of the oldest working harbour in the Southern Hemisphere. With Table Mountain as its backdrop, the 123-hectare neighbourhood sees millions of people visiting each year. It contains art, entrepreneurs, and sustainable design.

From our accommodation we could take a small canal boat right outside the hotel along to the main V&A Waterfront. We passed a number of beautiful high-end apartments on the waterfront and a luxury hotel. Along the V&A Waterfront were many shops and a very good selection of restaurants.
