I came across these interesting cartoon characters by the side of the road as I walked around the Lorong Tuanku Abdul Rahman area in Kuala Lumpur. I recognised them immediately as all the characters from the famous local cartoonist, Lat.
Datuk Mohammad Nor bin Mohammad Khalid, more commonly known as Lat, is a Malaysian cartoonist. Winner of the Fukuoka Asian Culture Prize in 2002, Lat has published more than 20 volumes of cartoons since he was 13 years old.
There are total 22 sculptures featuring famous characters by Lat, including the cartoonist himself, are located at 11 different spots along Jalan Melaka, Jalan Gereja and Jalan Chulan. So I still have to find the rest of these sculptures ……..
