Laugharne, Wales

Laugharne is a small town on the south coast of Wales where the River Taf flows into the Carmarthen Bay. It is famously associated with the Welsh poet Dylan Thomas who lived in Laugharne from 1949 till his death in 1953. Thomas described Laugharne as “a timeless, mild, beguiling island of a town”.

Walking along the small coastal path from Laugharne Castle you will come to the Dylan Thomas Boathouse where he lived with his family during his last 4 years. The writing shed which is close to The Boathouse is where Dylan Thomas did most of his writing.
