The Summer House, Invermoriston, Scotland

Invermoriston sits on the banks of Loch Ness in Scotland about 11km north of Fort Augustus on the A82 road. Places of interest in the village include St Columba’s Well, Telford’s Bridge and the Falls of Invermoriston. The village’s most visited attraction is the Thomas Telford bridge, built in 1813, which crosses the spectacular River Moriston falls. Just downstream of the Telford Bridge is the Summer House which was built by a former laird of Glenmoriston. This Victorian folly, perched precariously above the largest of the falls on the River Moriston, was designed to shelter house guests as they watched salmon migrating upstream.
