Aberdour is a beautiful small seaside town on the Fife coast in Scotland. It has a small beach and a busy little harbour making it a lovely place to visit and take a walk along part of the famous Fife Coastal Path.

At the end of Hawkcraig Point is a small hotel with a wonderful seafood restaurant called Room With A View so we decided to go there for a small family lunch one day and combine this with a short walk along the coast.

It was a wonderful day for a walk to the restaurant so starting from the railway station it was a short walk to the beachfront and then around the harbour and along the coastal path to the point where the hotel and restaurant sits.

The Room With A View Restaurant serves a wonderful array of local seafood along with a great selection of wines and local beers. Sitting at the dining table you get panoramic views over the Forth of Forth and over to Edinburgh.

After a wonderful lunch it was good to walk some of this off on the return leg to the railway station. Around the harbour there were some lovely houses right on the front.

Heading back up from the seafront we passed the local bowling green where the locals were well into their afternoon game.

The small railway station at Aberdour connects you easily to Edinburgh in the south or to Kirkcaldy, Dundee and Aberdeen further north.
